Great hotel and compared to other hotels I researched before booking, I thought it good value for money. Breakfast was fairly basic but more than ample and there was plenty of food available. The hotel and the room was very clean and modern. Reception staff were helpful, especially when trying to arrange our return back to the airport. Perhaps the best thing was just how close bus stop 12 is! With all the trips we had booked plus the airport transfers, it was really convenient to have the stop literally on the door step! All the trips we went on had the option of being collected or dropped off there. It also appeared to be the bus stop that was first on the pick up list for our tour buses (meaning we didn’t have to wait long at all in -15C for the bus to arrive during the half an hour time frame they ask you to wait). For our three trips, bus stop 12 was also the first drop off point so we didn’t have to sit on the bus going to all the other drop off points after the tours had finished. Photo I’ve included shows where the bus stop is and the front of the hotel. There are plenty of eateries near by, which you can get to on foot.

The staff at Storm Hotel were very kind. We actually didn't get to stay here because our flight was canceled due to bad weather and we ended up stuck in an airport for two days. We only arrived in Reykjavik on the day of checkout. The hotel manager kindly allowed us to check into our room for a couple of hours to freshen up even though we didn't get there until after checkout time. It was much appreciated because we were commencing a drive around the ring road and had already spent an exhausting couple of days stuck in a US airport. The hotel is conveniently located, and we were able to walk around and grab lunch at an excellent little cafe around the corner before starting our road trip.

Nice modern building, spacious room for one person (I was given a room with two singles—might have been a bit tight for two people though). For me, walking distance from Harpa, City Hall, Parliament, also not far from Laugavegur. Others may need transportation. But the most important: helpful staff! A BIG shoutout to the two people who were at the front desk on 15 July 2024. It’s a long story, but if not for them, I would have missed the bus to the airport and would have had to wait an hour for the next one. They were FANTASTIC!! I will be forever grateful (though I was so frazzled that I didn’t catch their names). They went above and beyond and deserve recognition.

The staff at Storm Hotel were exceptional. Being a solo traveller who uses a wheelchair, Iceland was a bit daunting; however, the staff did an amazing job at providing accommodations, as well as providing me with information and resources on how to make Reykjavík easier to get around by myself while using a wheelchair. I’ve travelled extensively throughout Europe and - because of the staff at Storm Hotel - Reykjavík was by far the most stress-free city I’ve been to. I’d 100% recommend solo travellers with disabilities to stay at Storm Hotel in Reykjavík.

We had the best time at Storm Hotel, it was perfect for what we wanted. There's a bus stop just in front of the hotel where all the tours around Iceland stop, including the ones to the northern lights and the airport, so we couldn't be happier. The hotel is also just a 5-10 minute walk to the city center, so it's also perfect to visit the city. The room had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Iceland is amazing and we want to be back as soon as possible and whenever we come back, we will stay at Storm Hotel.
